What Is Aliasing?
A radar mix-up where winds are faster than the radar can measure cleanly, so they get displayed as blowing the wrong way. It looks like a sudden color flip in the velocity picture. In technical terms: Ambiguity in Doppler velocity when the true radial velocity exceeds the Nyquist velocity (plus or minus lambda times PRF divided by 4).
Also called: Velocity Folding, Velocity Aliasing
Aliasing In Plain English

The Technical Definition
Ambiguity in Doppler velocity when the true radial velocity exceeds the Nyquist velocity (plus or minus lambda times PRF divided by 4); the measured value folds to the opposite end of the interval, producing abrupt inbound/outbound discontinuities not caused by the wind.
