Your Account

To start the trial or buy LightningWX you create an account: your name, email address and a password, protected with 2-factor sign-in. Payments are handled by our payment processor; we never see your full card number.

The 7-Day Check-In

LightningWX contacts our server at least every 7 days to confirm your account and subscription and to check for updates. It sends your license details and a device identifier so we can honor the 3-PC limit. It does not send what you look at.

S.T.E.M. Cells Research Packets

Only with the consent you give during install, LightningWX sends small, scrubbed research packets: forecast verification scores, aggregate detection counts, radar site IDs, app and Windows versions, a random install ID and crash reports. Names, emails, license keys, coordinates and file paths with your user name are removed before anything leaves your PC, and you can read every packet in its outbox first.

Your Location

Saved locations and GPS positions stay on your computer, where they power Storm Arrival. They are not sent to us.
