What Is Tornado Warning?

An alert that a tornado is happening or radar shows strong rotation near you. Take shelter now. In technical terms: A short-fused, polygon-based NWS warning issued when a tornado is indicated by radar or reported by spotters, typically valid 30-45 minutes; may include tags such as "radar indicated", "observed", "considerable", or "catastrophic".
