What Is HRRR?
A detailed American short-range weather model updated every hour, good at showing where individual thunderstorms may form in the next day or two. In technical terms: The High-Resolution Rapid Refresh, a NOAA convection-allowing model at 3 km grid spacing over CONUS, updated hourly with radar-reflectivity assimilation, producing forecasts to 18 hours (48 hours every 6 hours).
