The leading edge of cool air rushing out from a thunderstorm. When it arrives, the wind shifts and gusts and the temperature drops. In technical terms: The leading boundary of a convective cold pool, marked by a wind shift, gusts, pressure jump and temperature fall; lifting along it initiates new cells and may produce shelf clouds, and it often appears as a thin line on radar.
